Telouet Kasbah & Tizi n'Tichka Pass Day Trip
The Glaoui palace hidden in the mountains.
01Overview
The Tichka pass and the forgotten palace of the Glaoui pashas at Telouet, with its zellige and carved cedar rooms — a quieter alternative to Aït Ben Haddou.
Telouet was the seat of the Glaoui family, the "lords of the Atlas" who controlled the caravan route across the mountains. Their kasbah is half ruined outside but astonishing inside: painted ceilings, carved cedar and tiled reception halls. Combine it with the views from the Tichka pass and lunch in a mountain village.
